Boonton, a Wireless Telecom Group company (NYSE: WTT), has helped MiCom labs decrease regulatory compliance costs and testing time with the 55 Series USB Power sensor with Real-Time Power ProcessingTM
By developing the MiTestTM
System, an automated cloud based test system and test methodology MiCom has enabled end-to-end automation of conducted regulatory compliance testing using Boonton’s 55 Series USB sensor. The new automated test procedure requires simultaneous and synchronized RF power measurements by using multiple power sensors with a multiport RF Switch. Depending upon the number of antenna ports, this innovative test setup uses multiple Boonton 55 series USB power sensors to simultaneously sample RF output power by providing 100 ms data samples for each RF port. The test methodology is based on latest FCC and ETSI standards for compliance testing for 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz), 802.11an (5 GHz) and 802.11ac (5 GHz) MIMO devices. Multiple 55006 USB peak power sensors with their fastest measurement time and very high video bandwidth (195 MHz) allowed MiTestTM
System to collect ample data simultaneously, and offer a repeatable, scalable RF power measurement for each port. It has improved conducted compliance test accuracy, decreased measurement time, and minimized test equipment costs for testing WiFi 802.11ac devices and applications.
